How can God use our lives when there is so much pain?

This week at Dialogue, we completed our series called Heart Beats, where we shared what was in our hearts with our family.  Shawn and Ashlee talked about how we can take the first step in dealing with our past, what we can do with the pain and hard truths we find there, and how to bring those things to God.

Shawn created a video called Man in the Mirror, encouraging self-reflection.  Ashlee discussed living a beautifully ruined life and remembering the blessings of God in times of hardship.

Due to some technical difficulties, the audio from this week’s messages will not be online (but you can listen to the rest of the series).

So instead, what did you like or dislike about this week at Dialogue?  What were something that you may have learned about yourself during this series? What makes your heart beat?

  1. Here are a few notes that i jotted down while Ash was speaking:

    1) We live in the tension between who we are and who we could be.
    2) Pain etches the path of our destiny.
    3) Christ’s life changed the world, but his death changed all eternity.
    4) Christ was “perfected through suffering”.
    5) God doesn’t want to justify your experiences; he wants to redeem your pain.
    6) Pain has a purpose.
    7) You are a redemption story!
    8) You are “perfectly ruined”.
