Lenten Service | March 17, 2010

On Wednesday, March 17, Dialogue will be celebrating the Lenten season with our Church Fl!p friends, Lutheran Church of the Cross in Muncie.  There is a soup dinner at 6:00pm before the service at 7:00pm.   Get directions to Lutheran Church of the Cross.

What is Lent anyways?

Lent is the 40 (or so) days preceding Easter.  Lent is representative of the 40 days Jesus spent in the wilderness as described in the books of Matthew, Mark, and Luke  in the New Testament in the Bible.  It’s celebrated as a time of reflection and fasting to prepare for Easter.  Read more about Lent.

Churches all over the world celebrate Lent in many, many different ways.  Some fast or give up something for the entire 40 days, like soda, candy, Facebook, etc.  Others spend the time in reflection and worship to prepare for Easter.
